PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

AS A RESULT OF THE COVID-19 CRISIS, THE LIBERTY COUNTY BOARD OF ASSESSORS IS PRACTICING SOCIAL DISTANCING. THEREFORE, EFFECTIVE MARCH 18, 2020, THE ASSESSORS OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO FILE FOR HOMESTEAD AND SPECIAL EXEMPTIONS USING THE GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE FORMS LINK AVAILABLE IN THE TOPICS OF INTEREST SECTION OF OUR DEPARTMENT WEB PAGE. YOU MAY CONTACT OUR OFFICE FOR ANY ASSISTANCE WITH THESE FORMS BY CALLING OUR MAIN LINE AT: 912-876-2823, AND SELECT OPTION 1. WE ASK THAT YOU PLEASE BE PATIENT AS CALL WAIT TIMES MAY BE LONGER THAN USUAL.

*NOTICE:

Real and personal property returns are due by April 1, 2020.

Homestead and special exemption applications may be filed year round.

Applications filed by April 1, 2020 will be applicable for tax year 2020.

Applications received after April 1, 2020 will be effective for tax year 2021.
